building the dream INAUGURAL DINNER

Austin Country Club played host to over 150 friends of Austin Grad on September 28, 2007. The evening began with a fruit and cheese reception at 6:00. Guests enjoyed the beautiful weather on the outdoor patio and a view of the Pennybacker Bridge. Dinner began at 7:00 PM with opening remarks by Board of Trustees Vice-Chairman, Neil Haney of Temple. (Click here to watch Neil’s opening remarks.) The opening prayer was led by Trustee and Campaign Chair, Dan Snow, of Andrews.

At 7:45, Board Chairman, Terry Koonce of Houston, spoke to the audience. (Click here to watch Terry’s speech.) He then introduced President Stan Reid to share information about the School’s current situation and future plans. (Click here to view Stan’s speech.)

The highlight of the evening came as two alums and one current student shared how Austin Graduate School of Theology has impacted their lives and ministries. Josh Wilkins, a second year Master’s student from Boise, Idaho and current student association president, was the first to speak. (Click here to view Josh’s remarks.) Bunnie Stark who received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Austin Grad spoke next. (Click here to view Bunnie’s speech.) Allan Stanglin, preacher for the Legacy Church of Christ in North Richland Hills, and master’s class of 2007, also shared his affection for the School. (Click here to view Allan’s comments.)

The evening ended with Neil Haney asking attendees to place Austin Grad at the top of their gift list through the duration of the campaign. Response forms were handed out. (Click here to download a Building the Dream Capital Campaign response form.)
