Austin Graduate School of Theology launches a three year,
$3.5 million capital campaign. This campaign goal is in addition to the school’s
annual fund campaign which is $440,000 for the 2007-2008 fiscal year.
In 1964 Dr. A.B. Cox, a leader for the School and a University Avenue Church
of Christ Elder, articulated the vision for Austin Grad that carries on today.
The ultimate goal of the school was to provide, “…graduate training
in Bible designed to contribute to the training of ministers, teachers, and
missionaries.”
The Building the Dream Campaign will allow Austin Grad to more fully
and effectively carry out that vision. The campaign will fund the purchase
and renovation of 7640 Guadalupe; a two-story, 26,000 square foot facility
near Hwy.183 in north-central Austin.
While the campaign will officially kick-off at a September 28 dinner; the
board, associates, and employees have already committed over $1 million towards
the campaign goal. One-hundred percent of Board members and employees have
participated in the campaign. Kirk Eason, Director of Development and Public
Relations says, “The commitment shown by those closely involved with
the School is a sign of how important this mission is to the Christian community.
There is no doubt that many others will join us in this tremendous effort.”
Ways You Can Participate
Gift of Cash: A one-time gift or multiple gifts will be of tremendous benefit
to the relocation effort.
Pledge and Payments: A pledged gift paid over a period of time often allows
one to make a larger gift than might otherwise be possible.
Gift of Securities: A gift of stock rather than a gift of cash may provide
tax advantages for some.
Special Gifts: Assets, such as land, life insurance, or tangible personal
property can also be given.
Planned Gifts: A bequest, charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust
or other planned gift may provide tax advantages for some donors.
IRA Options: Recent legislation allows donors in 2007 to make charitable
gifts from IRA accounts.
We will be happy to provide details for any of the options listed above.
